An Inheritance of Hope

My grandfather didn't leave much behind in the way of money. What he left was a habit of hope — a way of talking about hard seasons that always ended in 'and God will see us through it,' said with such certainty that as a kid I never once doubted it.

That's an inheritance too. Maybe the most durable one. Money gets spent. Hope, passed down and modeled consistently, outlives the person who gave it.
